THE CAVERN DIRECTIONS FROM GAUTENG:
Firstly, if you are travelling from Gauteng, take the N3 to Harrismith. At Harrismith turn left onto the R712. But don’t forget to turn right onto the R74 to Bergville. Then keep on the R74, travelling past the magnificent Sterkfontein Dam and Little Switzerland. This area is also known as the Oliviershoek Pass.
Then you will then turn right off the R74 at the relevant signpost to the R304 or Royal Natal/ Amphitheatre. Carry on along this road till you reach The Cavern signpost. Turn right on the D119 and follow the signs.
FROM DURBAN OR PIETERMARITZBURG:
In the first place, travel on the N3 from Durban. Then keep on the N3 until you see the Winterton turn-off. In Winterton carry on straight down the main street until you encounter the only robots in this village. Then carry on past the Pig and Plough on the left. Secondly, you should be on the R74 to Bergville. Pass through Bergville and remain on the R74 until you see the relevant sign to the R304 or Royal Natal/ Amphitheatre on the left of this road. Carry on along this road till you reach The Cavern signpost. Turn right on the D119 and follow the signs.
FROM THE FREE STATE:
Travel along the N5 through Bethlehem. Turn right onto the R74 just before Harrismith. Then keep on the R74, travelling past the magnificent Sterkfontein Dam and Little Switzerland. This area is also known as the Oliviershoek Pass.
