Goodland has two cosy self-catering cottages. They are situated in the foothills of the Central Drakensberg of South Africa. But the views of a large proportion of this beautiful mountain range are spectacular. It is possible to see Cathkin Peak and a large section of the Central Drakensberg.
Activities
There are a number of activities that guests of the Goodland Self-Catering Cottage can do:
- Firstly, they are in close vicinity to Bell Park Da, an excellent fishing and picnicking spot;
- Also, hiking, there are a number of hikes that can be undertaken from Monks Cowl Camp;
- Horse riding at Drakensberg Sun or Dragon Peak Resort;
- Zip-Lining at Drakensberg Canopy Tours, Four River Adventures or Dragon Peak Resort;
- Learning to abseil at Dragon Peak Resort;
- Hot air ballooning. There are two operators in The Valley;
- Moreover a helicopter flip from Dragon Peak Resort or Cathedral Peak;
- White River Rafting;
- Taking on one of the trail run or mountain biking circuits;
- Attending a bird show at Falcon Ridge;
- Visiting the Reptile Centre;
- Additionally, tasting gold class wine at the Cathedral Peak Estate;
- Spending time at the Berg Air Lifestyle Centre, where you can visit a chocolate factory, enjoy a meal at a first-class bistro, buy goods at a farm stall and enjoy homebrew at The Drakensberg Brewery;
- Visiting a craft centre such as KwaZulu Weathers or Thokozisa;
- Taking in some San Rock Art at Main Cave at Giants Castle or Battle Cave at Injisuthi;
- Scootours;
- E-bikes;
- Participating in a Parkrun on a Saturday;
- Playing golf at Monks Cowl Resort or Champagne Sports; and
- Attending a performance of the Drakensberg Boys Choir School.
