Introduction to Spion Kop Lodge
Spion Kop Lodge offers the perfect venue to explore the KwaZulu-Natal battlefields, Drakensberg, the bush and birds of this region. Moreover, this lodge is located on a 700-hectare game farm. Additionally, the lodge offers visitors an awesome sense of space and beauty, supreme comfort and warm hospitality. Also, the turn of the century farmhouse has been beautifully restored in Natal colonial style. The converted barn now forms the magnificent dining room that boasts spectacular views. Guests savour fine cuisine and excellent service whilst appreciating the African landscape and battlefields.
Accommodation
Guests are offered the choice of full board or self-catering facilities. Colonial style chalets are located in the park-like grounds, each individually furnished and appointed to offer luxury. There is also the majesty of the nearby Drakensberg mountains.

Spion Kop Lodge offers eight luxurious, double en-suite rooms.
Aloe Cottage
Aloe Cottage consists of two bedrooms (one double bedded and one twin Bedded), two bathrooms, a lounge, fully equipped kitchen and braai facilities. Both Aloe and Acacia cottages were originally pig styes and Spionkop Lodge converted them into cottages, the wood, from poplar trees which are on the banks of the Thukela River, which forms the boundary of the farm. The stonework was done by a Scottish Stone Mason.
Acacia Cottage
Acacia Cottage Consists of two bedrooms one double and one twin) and one small additional room, most suitable for a child. Additionally, the cottage has two bathrooms, a lounge, a fully equipped kitchen and braai facilities.

Guided tours by renowned Battlefield Guide and member of the British Royal Historical Society Ray Heron. He is an expert on the Battle of Spionkop and South African History.
