Introduction to Injisuthi Hiking Trails
Injisuthi is one of the most remote and hidden wonders of the Drakensberg. This Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife Camp is the start of a number of memorable hikes including Fergy and Battle Cave, Marble Baths and Cave, Lower Injisuthi Cave, Grindstone Cave and Van Heyningen’s Pass.
The Camp has magnificent self-catering cottages and a well-established camping site.
The word Injisuthi is derived from the Zulu word ‘eNjesuthi’, which means well-fed dog. It is also the name of the second-highest peak on the South African side of the Drakensberg and is very prominent in this area. This peak looks like the incisor tooth of a dog.
